LGBT Issues Internship
LGBT research and communications interns will serve as fully engaged members of a small dedicated team at the Center for American Progress. Our interns will have the opportunity to delve into a variety of policy and research projects and gain valuable knowledge and understanding of key LGBT issues facing the nation. Our spring 2010 agenda will likely include strategic work on employment discrimination, relationship recognition rights and marriage equality, healthcare, and repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.”
LGBT research and communications interns engage in research, writing, preparatory work for events, and other needed support. Whenever possible, our interns are encouraged to write on a topic of their choice, either as a contributor to a larger final piece or as an author of a column for our website. We also encourage interns on our team to take full advantage of the many events at CAP, as well as events, briefings, and hearings that take place on the Hill and throughout Washington, D.C.
