Middle East Progress Internship
Middle East Progress, a project of the Center for American Progress, highlights practical approaches to make Americans safer by improving U.S., Israeli, and regional security, and strengthening America’s global standing. The Middle East Bulletin, an email newsletter published by MEP twice a week, imports the robust debate that occurs in the region to the United States and the world. It includes a news digest from journalists covering the region, analyses from Middle East experts and organizations, original commentary, and a rapid response to misleading or incomplete statements about U.S. interests.
Responsibilities
Interns will work with the editors to produce the Middle East Bulletin. This includes producing original backgrounders on a variety of topics, researching analysis pieces and news, and helping to put together the final product. Interns may also work on outreach or other projects.
Requirements
- Excellent research skills
- Attention to detail
- Interest in the politics of, and U.S. policy in, the Middle East
- Strong writing and editing skills
Preferred:
- High level of knowledge about the Middle East
- Regional language skills (Hebrew, Arabic)
- Familiarity with regional news sources
- Knowledge of web publishing
