ScienceProgress.org Internship
Interns working with Science Progress have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic magazine that is recognized by science policymakers around the country. Our mission is to promote science and technology policy in pursuit of the common good. We focus on the life sciences and public health, innovation and technology, energy and environmental policy, science that supports national security, and science communication and education. Our advisers and contributors include prominent researchers and policy professionals.
Primary intern responsibilities include writing regularly about policy-related issues for the site, assisting with web production and outreach, and conducting research to support our wide array of content. Excellent written communication skills are a must. A science or engineering background is not necessary; applicants from all academic disciplines are welcome.
American Progress operates two separate nonprofit organizations to maximize our progressive agenda: The Center for American Progress and the Center for American Progress Action Fund. This job posting refers collectively to the two organizations under the name “American Progress.” The Center for American Progress is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) tax-exempt research and educational institute. It undertakes research, public education and a limited amount of lobbying. The Center for American Progress Action Fund is a non-partisan 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization dedicated to achieving progress through action. It works to transform progressive ideas into policy through rapid response communications, legislative action, grassroots organizing, political advocacy, and partnerships with other progressive leaders. The organizations share office space and employees.
