Network Associate, Campus Progress

Summary:
The Center for American Progress has an immediate opening for a Network Associate working for Campus Progress, the Center’s comprehensive effort to help young people make their voices heard and to empower new generations of progressive leaders. The Network Associate is responsible for recruiting and selecting participants for and providing support to Campus Progress’s network of students on more than 150 campuses (and growing) across the country; planning and implementing programming and training for students within the network; and acting as a liaison between Campus Progress network students and our issues and events staff. The Network Associate will strengthen Campus Progress's outreach to students, student groups, campus faculty and staff, other young people, national and regional organizations, and others in order to foster connections and involvement in Campus Progress’s work
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate selection of and manage Campus Progress student representatives, national student advisory board members, and chapters
- Participate in planning, implementing, coordinating, and promoting Campus Progress programming, training, and regional events for students in our network
- Develop and maintain databases of campus and other contacts
- Develop and implement outreach strategies and plans, strengthening Campus Progress's outreach to students, student groups, campus faculty and staff, and other young people
- Conduct campus visits to advance Campus Progress work and develop relationships with students
- Assist in promoting Campus Progress programs – national and campus events; issue advocacy and campaigns; and publications – to young people across the country
- Prepare written materials about Campus Progress and our programs
- Act as a liaison between Campus Progress network students and the issues and events staff of Campus Progress
- Assist in organizing the Campus Progress National Conference, including speaking programs, trainings, issue discussion, and networking / social opportunities
- Coordinate selection and implementation of annual Campus Progress Awards
- Identify and develop relationships with national and local organizations to advance common goals and create opportunities for the students in our network
- Supervise interns

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Campus organizing/activism experience, as a student or non-student
- Experience with social networking tools and online organizing preferred
