Alexandra Kougentakis, Fellows Assistant
Alexandra Kougentakis is a Fellows Assistant to Daniel J. Weiss and Robert M. Sussman on the Energy team. She focuses on domestic clean energy and climate policy and international climate change agreements.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Alexandra graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with degrees in environmental studies, political science, and French. Her honors thesis in political science, which examined the influence of religion on the foreign policy of the Bush administration, was selected for publication in the University’s electronic undergraduate journal. The results of her summer work as part of a research team at Villanova University in a soil science laboratory were presented at a 2007 international soil science conference in New Orleans. She has been an intern in the Washington office of John Kerry and, at Penn, was involved in John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign and Bob Casey’s 2006 senatorial campaign.
