Jon Shields

Special Assistant

Jon is a Special Assistant for the Communications team. He is from Danville, Virginia, and graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2010 with a degree in political science.

After graduation, Jon worked for former Rep. Tom Perriello’s (D-VA) re-election campaign as regional field director. Previously, he worked as a staff assistant for Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) before joining CAP's Communications team in January 2012. Jon has always taken an active role in progressive politics, leading his college chapter of the Virginia Young Democrats and interning for the U.S. House Democratic Caucus.
