Lavon Chambers
Lavon Chambers is the community affairs officer for New York State Laborers Local 10, a residential construction and green laborers local covering the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island. Chambers and Local 10 are working to promote unionization in, and provide job opportunities for, communities most in need. Lavon has been with Local 10 since its inception two years ago and with the Laborers International Union of North America, or LIUNA, for over 13 years. He is an executive board member of the Mason Tenders District Council PAC and Greater New York Laborers Employers Cooperation and Education Trust, and also serves on the board of Urban Agenda, the convener of the New York City Apollo Alliance.
