Martha Coven

Martha Coven joined the staff of the Domestic Policy Council in January 2009, where she serves as Special Assistant to the President for Mobility and Opportunity.

Before joining the Administration, she spent seven years at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. During her time at the Center, she led legislative initiatives on affordable housing, welfare reform, Social Security, and climate change. She also provided federal budget training for national and state-based non-profits.

Her prior experience includes five years on Capitol Hill, four of which were spent working for the House Democratic leadership on a variety of communications projects and domestic policy issues.

She holds a B.A. in economics and a law degree from Yale University.
