Pradeep Ramamurthy
Pradeep Ramamurthy is the Senior Director for Global Engagement at the National Security Staff, a new position created by President Obama to "drive comprehensive engagement policies that leverage diplomacy, communications, international development and assistance, and domestic engagement and outreach in pursuit of a host of national security objectives, including those related to homeland security." Pradeep is a career civil servant who has served in intelligence and policy positions at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the White House. Prior to his current position, he was a director on the Homeland Security Council (Nov 2008 - May 2009) and was the first-ever intelligence advisor for homeland security and counterterrorism (Nov 2007-Nov 2008). From 2006-2007, Pradeep was a member of the ODNI's Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) staff. Prior to this, Pradeep was involved in establishing the FBI's National Security Branch as part of the FBI's post-9/11 reorganization and served as the special assistant to its first deputy director from 2005-2006. He also held several positions in the FBI's Counterterrorism Division. Pradeep has a B.Sc. from Georgetown University and an M.A. from the University of Chicago.
