Megan Buckles is a senior policy analyst for the Disability Justice Initiative at American Progress. Before joining American Progress, Buckles was a clients’ rights advocate for Disability Rights California (DRC). At DRC, she advised and represented clients on a variety of matters, including eligibility for public benefits, regional center services, and special education. Prior to working at DRC, Buckles was the special education law fellow at Learning Rights Law Center and a law clerk at Disability Rights Legal Center. Prior to law school, she worked for the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Buckles holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder, a master’s in global development from Arizona State University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas.
