Siena Cicarelli is a research assistant for National Security and International Policy at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she worked for the National Democratic Institute on their Central and Eastern Europe team, where she focused on strengthening political parties in the Western Balkans. She previously interned at the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of European Affairs.
Cicarelli holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies with a focus on the intersection of foreign policy and national security from American University. She is originally from Sandy Hook, Connecticut.
