Cristina Novoa is a senior policy analyst for Early Childhood Policy at American Progress. Most recently, she worked as a researcher on a range of early childhood issues at SRI International. Prior to joining American Progress, she completed fellowships at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and in the office of Sen. Kirsten E. Gillibrand (D-NY).

Novoa studied developmental psychology and public policy, specializing in the academic and behavioral development of children from immigrant families. She holds a doctorate in developmental psychology and a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Yale University.
