Women, Elections, and the Issues that Matter

11:00 AM - 12:15 PM EST

As more and more women play a central role in the economic security and viability of their families, they consistently identify issues such as equal pay, paid leave, child care, and health care access as vital concerns. Yet many of our workplace policies remain stuck in the past, disconnected from today’s realities and unresponsive to women’s needs. Increasingly, women are making their voices heard and making clear they want to see policies that can make a real difference for working families.

The event will kick-off with opening remarks by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who will discuss key issue priorities for women and what policies must be on the agenda to respond to women’s needs. Her remarks will be followed by a panel discussion with leading experts about the importance of women voters and the issues that matter to them, particularly as we look back at the 2014 midterms and look ahead to the expected policy debates and elections over the next few months and years.

Please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a thought-provoking conversation that will help set the stage for the national conversation over the next two years about the next steps for improving the lives of women, men, children and families across the nation.
