The Real Story Behind the Latino Electorate in 2016

Center for American Progress Action Fund
12:00 - 1:15 PM EST

Among the myriad of issues that have been discussed while analyzing the 2016 presidential election, one of on-going debate is the performance of Latino voters. Questions persist about Latino voter turnout and performance—did they show up at the polls and did they break for President-elect Donald Trump in unexpected numbers? Exit polls report a significantly higher turnout of Latinos in support of Trump than what was indicated by polling conducted by several news organizations in the days and weeks leading up to the election and notably by polling conducted by Latino Decisions the day before and on election day.

Join the Center for American Progress Action Fund and expert panelists as we discuss the 2016 election and Latino voter participation, taking a closer look at exit polling; outcomes in Florida, Colorado, and Nevada—instrumental states with significant Latino populations and robust civic engagement operations; and the policies needed to increase turnout in future cycles.
