The Health Care Fight: Ensuring Access to Prescription Drugs

Center for American Progress Action Fund
10:00 - 11:00 AM EDT

Drug prices continue to skyrocket, resulting in increasingly unaffordable costs for millions of Americans. To combat this, Congress must act now to reauthorize user fee laws that fund the Food and Drug Administration’s review process of new drugs while also finding real solutions to the rising cost of prescription drugs. Yet instead, the Senate is rushing to repeal the ACA and cut Medicaid, which would result in 22 million fewer Americans having health insurance.

Please join Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ) and the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a discussion on the challenges of addressing the concerns of the American public on rising drug costs and pharmaceutical policy reform, as well as the latest developments on Congress’s efforts to repeal the ACA.

A discussion with:

Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ), ranking member of U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee

Moderated by:

Topher Spiro, vice president for Health Policy and senior fellow
