Havillyn Felder is the project coordinator for Structural Reform and Governance at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she interned on Capitol Hill for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ). Felder also interned at the Houston City Council for District F, with Rep. Lizzie Fletcher’s (D-TX) reelection campaign, and at Impact Research. She is also heavily interested in political research and was an inaugural fellow at the Mark Q. Sawyer Institute, which studies race, ethnicity, and politics and is hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles. Felder’s research from her time at the institute was presented at the 3rd Annual McNair Conference and the 54th National Conference of Black Political Scientists. She earned a degree in political science and Afro-American studies from Howard University.
