ADVISORY: CAP Action Fund Hosts Prescription Drug Pricing Reforms Panel Discussion

Washington, D.C. — On Tuesday, April 26, the Center for American Progress Action Fund will host a panel discussion on policies to halt the rising costs of prescription drugs. Representatives from across the health care field—representing consumers, doctors, and insurers—will participate in the event, and Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) will deliver keynote remarks.

This event is rescheduled from its original date in January. And updated panelists, as of April 26, are below.

Prescription drug prices are too high and rising fast. With about half of all Americans—and 90 percent of seniors—taking a prescription drug in any given month, this growing crisis is not sustainable. Last year, the Center for American Progress released a set of integrated reforms that challenged lawmakers and public officials to make halting the rising cost of prescription drugs and paying for medications’ value a priority for the year ahead. At the event, join leading experts in discussing this crucial issue and how to consider policy options to lower costs for consumers, improve transparency in the pharmaceutical industry, and ensure that drug prices reflect their benefits to patients.

Members of the media can RSVP here.

The event, “Prescription Drug Pricing: Reforms to Pay for Value,” will be live-streamed and archived online.
