ADVISORY: In Philadelphia, CAP Action to Co-Host Event on Skilling America’s Workforce

Event will focus on how investments in training can grow the U.S. economy and create pathways into the middle class.

Philadelphia, PA — A highly skilled workforce is essential to a well-functioning economy. Skilled workers raise productivity, grow the American economy, and help maintain our global competitiveness. Skills training can also be a driver of economic mobility, helping workers increase their own wages and productivity. Both the public and private sectors can play a key role in helping raise the skills of America’s workforce by developing and expanding access to high-quality training programs, such as apprenticeships, that lead to high-wage jobs.

On Tuesday, the Center for American Progress Action Fund and AT&T will co-host a discussion on the importance of worker training as an engine for growth and a pathway into the middle class for workers. A light lunch will be served.
