EVENT ADVISORY: State Attorneys General Discuss Role of Progressive Reform At State Level, Using Legal System to Defend and Protect Americans

Washington, D.C. — On Monday, February 27, the Center for American Progress Action Fund will host a conversation with Attorneys General Lisa Madigan (D-IL), Karl Racine (D-DC), and Mark Herring (D-VA) to discuss how state attorneys general have positioned themselves as the first line of defense by using the legal system to defend policies that protect not only the economic and personal well-being of all Americans but often the most basic human rights. Given that in the first 40 days of the Trump presidency, progressive policies from civil rights to climate regulation and from immigration reform to financial protections have already come under attack, many state-level leaders have risen in response to protect progress made in these areas from further regressive actions.

This event is open to press. To attend, please RSVP here. For more information, please contact Tanya Arditi at [email protected] or 202.741.6258.
