Washington, D.C. — On Friday, the Center for American Progress Action Fund will host a press call with Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC); Rep. Sharice Davids (D-KS); Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-IL); and Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) to discuss Democratic efforts to lower drug prices as Congress works to draft the Build Back Better reconciliation package. The speakers will discuss the importance of empowering Medicare to negotiate for lower prices, extending those prices to individuals covered by other health plans, and using drug cost savings to make other critical health investments.
