The New York Times Debunks Trump’s “Populism”

Trump makes a lot of promises about how his administration’s policies are going to help the middle class. As The New York Times wrote today under the blunt headline, “Trump Relies on Populist Language, but He Mostly Sides With Corporate Interests”:

  • The Trump administration always sides with wealthy corporations over working Americans. His administration has broken every promise he made to the middle class about increasing wages, protecting health care, and cutting taxes.
  • Trump is also completely ineffective at passing a legislative agenda. Instead of working on fixing the issues families face every day, Trump spends his time ranting on Twitter and spending taxpayer money to promote his own businesses.
