Outraged by Brett Kavanaugh confirmation? Make 2018 another Year of the Woman

Author Neera Tanden describes how, like Anita Hill's testimony in 1992, the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will lead to another Year of the Woman in 2018.

It’s hard to imagine anything more depressing than the media and Republicans in Congress arguing that the Brett Kavanaugh hearings — along with the demeaning treatment of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford — somehow constituted a political victory for the GOP. But these people have confused winning a single battle for the larger war. Despite the incredible pain provoked by Kavanaugh and his defenders, I have no doubt that opposing his nomination was a fight worth waging. In fact, history has already shown us the potential backlash that his appointment can spark against the GOP.
