The health and safety of staff remains our priority. American Progress’ office is currently open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Most employees work a hybrid schedule that includes at least two days per week in the office. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and levels of community spread and adjust plans as needed.

American Progress employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, except in limited circumstances in which an employee is legally entitled to a reasonable accommodation. All staff must have received a COVID-19 booster shot or plan to receive one within two weeks of eligibility after initial vaccination. All new hires will be required to provide proof of full vaccination including a booster dose, or request an exemption, no later than one week before the start of their employment.

Facilities Assistant

Facilities Assistant

This is a physically demanding and highly visible role that supports the effective monitoring and maintenance of American Progress’ physical space, equipment, fixtures, and appliances as well as provides front desk coverage in partnership with the Office Services team’s Administrative Associate. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through a variety of facilities-related and front desk tasks that include but are not limited to: greeting and directing visitors and guests; answering and redirecting phone calls; setting up conference room technology; providing internal moves support; helping with furniture relocations and light furniture repairs; checking supply inventory stocking and maintenance; and facilitating mail processing and distribution.
