ADVISORY: CAP Action’s Neera Tanden To Speak At Progress Iowa Corn Feed

Des Moines, IA — Center for American Progress Action Fund CEO Neera Tanden will join Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D), and Rep. Dave Loebsack (D-IA) as a featured speaker at the third annual Progress Iowa Corn Feed on Sunday, September 10. The Progress Iowa Corn Feed will begin at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, September 10 at the Simon Estes Amphitheater in Des Moines.

“Progressives across the country are mobilizing to stand up for our shared values and take back our country,” said Neera Tanden, CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. “I’m excited to come to Iowa and work with partners like Progress Iowa to fight inequality, support working families, and move our country forward.”

“Neera Tanden has been one of the strongest and boldest voices standing up for progressive ideas in this country, and we are thrilled that she’ll be joining us for this year’s Corn Feed,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “Under her leadership, the Center for American Progress Action Fund has become a tremendous resource for policy ideas and progressive activism. We’re excited she’s coming to Iowa, and can’t wait to hear her vision for our country!”

In addition to the featured addresses from Tanden, Merkley, Loebsack, and Buttiegieg, every announced Democratic candidate for governor will be speaking. The complete agenda of speakers will be released in the coming days. The Progress Iowa Corn Feed will also feature local progressive organizations, businesses, and artists. Last year’s event drew hundreds of attendees and featured organizations and progressive leaders from across the state.

Progress Iowa is a multi-issue advocacy organization with an online community of nearly 70,000 progressives. Year-round, Progress Iowa advocates for a stronger middle class, first-class public education, and fairness for all Iowans under the law. For more information on the Corn Feed, click here.
