REMINDER: PRESS CALL: CAPAF’s Tom Perriello and CAC’s Doug Kendall on the Constitution at a Crossroads

Government Power and the Constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act

Washington, D.C. — This month, as the Supreme Court fights over the president’s health reform legislation, the judicial body will confront a larger question about the constitution’s definition of federal power. As the court once again puts itself at the center of a political controversy, the justices will not be fighting over whether the Constitution is living or dead, but about what the Constitution actually means. And how the court interprets the meaning of government power will have a lasting impact.

For a preview of one of the most momentous arguments in Supreme Court history, please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Constitutional Accountability Center for a press call today at 11:00 am EST. The call will feature Tom Perriello, President of CAP Action, and Doug Kendall, president of CAC, and will serve as the launch of CAC’s project, "The Constitution at a Crossroads." The speakers will discuss the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, the meaning of government power, and the key issues at stake in the courts in 2012 and beyond.
