Washington, DC—Actions in the United States Senate in the next several weeks will determine whether the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) law is repealed in 2010 or if it remains on the nation’s books for years to come. The public conversation around this issue has allowed elected officials to put their DADT repeal position on the record. Several United States Senators have specifically said that their position hinged on what military leaders and the troops think about the issue—which will be disclosed in a Pentagon study released on or before December 1, 2010.
