MEDIA CALL: Location, Location, Location

Half in Ten releases interactive map with recently released poverty data sorted by congressional district, hosts national experts to offer analysis on place-based poverty and place-based solutions

Washington, D.C. — This week, the Census Bureau unveiled its American Community Survey (ACS), which will provide a more detailed look at poverty in localities across the country. While the data are often broken down by county, Half in Ten will release an interactive map on a media conference call this Thursday, displaying the data organized by congressional district, with breakdowns by gender, race, and child poverty—and illustrating distinct trends in rural, urban and suburban poverty.

Join policy experts Angela Glover Blackwell, Beth Mattingly, and Margaret Weir to discuss how poverty varies across a variety of congressional districts, and place-based solutions to tackle this growing problem.
