PRESS CALL TUESDAY: New Report on Leading Energy Efficiency Policies to Promote Jobs and Investment

Senator Harry Reid, PG&E CEO Peter Darbee, the Center for American Progress and Energy Resource Management Join to Release New Report on Leading Energy Efficiency Policies to Promote Jobs and Investment

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Join Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, PG & E Chief Executive Officer Peter Darbee, the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAPAF), and Energy Resource Management in a press call to discuss their new ranking of state policy leadership on energy efficiency. This call will discuss how states like Nevada are supporting innovative businesses using clean energy as a tool for economic development, job creation, and capital investment. The call will also release a report from CAP Action’s sister affiliate, The Center for American Progress, and Energy Resource Management (EnergyRM) entitled “Efficiency Works: Creating Good Jobs and New Markets Through Energy Efficiency,” which provides a report card on innovative state energy policies, in order to inform a national strategy for clean energy deployment.

The call will also provide new announcements on this year’s National Clean Energy Summit, which will be hosted by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on September 7 in Las Vegas, NV. The summit will gather senior business leaders and investors, policy experts, and public officials to highlight how we can work together to craft better policies that spur innovation and private sector investment in job creating industries. It will feature discussion of strategies like those outlined in the report, which enhance U.S. competitiveness and drive new business investment in jobs and recovery through energy efficiency retrofits and clean energy deployment.

Please contact Wendy Zamaripa at [email protected] if you plan to attend the call.
