Trump’s cruelty comes home to roost

It’s another day in Trump’s America—and another day to stand up for what’s right. Get the facts to fight back.

“How cold can you be? Those are children.”

Trump’s inhumane family separation policy is a stain on this country—and it’s a deal breaker for people like Liz from Michigan, who voted for him in 2016.

We’ve endured two years of Trump’s agenda, but for many Americans, his cruelty is most apparent when it comes to immigration. Trump tore thousands of families apart, some permanently, and just this week news broke that the administration was considering a plan to arrest 10,000 children and immigrant families around the country.

America deserves better than a president who rips children from their families and puts them in cages. Share Liz’s story on Facebook and Twitter to spread the message:

The Trump administration is rolling out a new immigration proposal later today. Here’s what we know:

  • Like family separation, the plan is another cruel attempt by the Trump administration to keep families apart. It would slash family immigration, keeping parents from their children and relatives.
  • This week, Senate Democrats revealed a new plan in response to the humanitarian crisis of families seeking asylum at the Southern border—a crisis Trump continues to make worse. Read CAP’s statement on the plan here.

Official White House Position: Trump is above the Law

The White House appears intent to continue obstructing every investigation into Trump’s corruption:

  • Top White House lawyer Pat Cipollone is refusing to answer the House Judiciary Committee’s “broad demand for records and testimony from dozens of current and former White House staffers.” His reasoning? Congress has “no right.”
  • As MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow put it, “According to Trump/Barr: 1. the President can’t be charged, 2. the president can end any DOJ investigation into himself (and fire the investigator) if he contends he’s falsely accused, and 3. Congress can’t investigate the president for corruption or other crimes.”
  • Meanwhile, Trump and his family are receiving plenty of obstruction help from Republicans in Congress. Case in point: Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told Donald Trump, Jr. to ignore a subpoena from the Senate Intelligence Committee. That’s illegal.
