Help Is Here Roundup: Federal, State, and Local Officials Praise American Rescue Plan as Funding…

Federal, State, and Local officials from across the country continue to see benefits from the American Rescue Plan for their constituents months after its passage.

This week. lawmakers celebrated new CMS data showing that because of enhanced tax credits in the American Rescue Plan (ARP), 34% of Americans with health insurance under the ACA exchange have found coverage for $10 or less per month, with more than 2.5 million current enrollees saving an average of over $40 per month. Additionally, this week the IRS sent 1.5 million taxpayers an average of $1,600 as part of a provision from the American Rescue Plan to those who overpaid in taxes for their unemployment compensation.

Meanwhile, state and local governments continue to use ARP funding to revitalize their states and communities. State legislators in Virginia met this week to allocate $4.3 billion in ARP funding. Local governments such as the Government of Alexandria, VA are using ARP funding to start sending $500 every month to low-income families.
