Today, we celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility, and it couldn’t come at a more crucial time for transgender Americans.
The Transgender Day of Visibility celebrates the whole transgender community—from war heroes such as Kristin Beck to state legislators such as Danica Roem and Sarah McBride to municipal leaders such as Andrea Jenkins and activists such as Miss Major Griffin-Gracy. We are all made better by these people and today, like every day, we recognize that and celebrate ALL the people who make our country better.
With legislators in state Houses across the country pushing laws attacking transgender children, it is more important than ever to support the transgender community by passing the Equality Act and continuing the fight for transgender equality.
