President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress have sold out Americans, throwing the country into chaos by holding the government hostage in a cruel effort to jack up health care costs and rip coverage away from millions of Americans. For months, Democrats have pushed for a bipartisan solution that keeps government open and delivers on the American people’s priorities, namely their health care needs. Because Republicans have refused to act, tens of millions of Americans are inching closer to seeing their premium costs double. It’s past time for Republicans to come to the negotiating table to reopen the government and prevent Americans from seeing their health care costs skyrocket.
