Missouri Republicans just passed an egregious mid-decade gerrymander that aims to strip Missourians of their electoral power. State lawmakers ignored the voices of thousands of Missourians, who turned out in a massive show of resistance, even as they
held hearings where not a single resident testified in support of what will be its new, corrupt map.
Missourians have the opportunity to reject this power grab and return power to the people through a possible ballot initiative next year. They should seize the moment, as should blue states, which risk allowing Donald Trump to cheat his way into retaining his rubber-stamp majorities in Congress in 2026 if they fail to fight back.
