Tonight, the American people stood up to a president who has made life more expensive for them while consolidating power and enriching himself. In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) showed that when you fight Trump’s attempts to rig the system, voters will respond. Around the country, Democratic candidates scored major wins, powered by a diverse coalition—including working-class people and communities most impacted by the ongoing government shutdown. This is no time to back down: Democrats must continue to fight the president’s efforts to increase costs while putting forward bold ideas that deliver real change that lowers costs and improves people’s lives.
