Faithfully: A Conversation About Religion and Politics With Rep. James Talarico

Please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a conversation with Rep. James Talarico on how religion can inform an individual’s politics, the importance of the separation of church and state, and how people of faith can support our democracy.

Rep. James Talarico will also be taking questions about how the redistricting efforts in the Texas legislature are antidemocratic and aim to silence the voices of the people.

Texas state Rep. James Talarico (D) has garnered national attention for showing how faith informs his progressive politics. A former middle school teacher and eighth-generation Texan, Talarico is currently studying at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary while serving as a member of the Texas legislature. People of all faiths, and none, can unite behind Talarico’s simple message: “people over politics.”

Please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a conversation with Rep. James Talarico. He will discuss how religion can inform an individual’s politics, the importance of the separation of church and state, and how people of faith can support our democracy. The conversation will be moderated by CAP Action Senior Fellow Guthrie Graves-Fitzsimmons, and the event is organized in partnership with Interfaith Alliance.
