Emergency Contraception Day of Action
The Obama administration’s record on women’s health issues is very strong, particularly on the issue of expanding affordable access to contraception through Obamacare. Nevertheless, a year ago the Obama administration decided to maintain an age restriction on emergency contraception. This restriction makes it more difficult for everyone to obtain, including those who are old enough to obtain it without a prescription. As emergency contraception works best when taken as soon as possible, barriers to access resulting in unnecessary delays in obtaining it are particularly problematic.
Check out this infographic from some of our colleagues that explains why these age restrictions and other barriers to access should be removed.
