Help Is Here Roundup: American Rescue Plan Continues to Benefit States, Cities and Local…

States, cities, and communities across the country are continuing to reap benefits from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan (ARP), more than seven months after its passage in Congress.

Last week, Colorado received an additional $389 million to help cover COVID-19 related educational costs. While the week before, Maine arts groups received funding from the ARP for a new grant program aimed at supporting arts jobs and institutions hit hard by the pandemic.

Meanwhile, cities and local communities continue to spend the ARP funding they’ve already received to Build Back Better. The City of Los Angeles, California announced a new grant program using ARP funds to give out $5,000 ‘Comeback Checks’ to small businesses. In Marion County, Missouri, $1 million in ARP funding is being used to invest in rural broadband access. And in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the City of Lancaster voted to allocate $5 million of ARP funds towards affordable housing.
