Help Is Here Roundup: Federal, State, and Local Officials Continue to Hail Key Programs Funded by…

Federal, state, and local officials from across the country continue to reap benefits from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) nearly six months after its passage.

Last week, lawmakers praised the Biden administration’s announcement of the “House America” initiative, which uses ARP funds to address homelessness by moving 100,000 households, or roughly 20% of the country’s unsheltered population, into supportive housing. Cities such as Philadelphia and Seattle have already been allocated millions under the program to start construction on new affordable housing projects to tackle the crisis.

Additionally, this month the IRS distributed its third round of Child Tax Credit payments to roughly 35 million families with 60 million children. Included as part of the ARP, the Child Tax Credit continues to be widely popular among Americans of both parties and has reduced poverty for millions of families who’ve used it to make ends meet.
