Help Is Here Roundup: Officials from Both Parties Highlight American Rescue Plan Funding for Their…

Federal, State, and Local Officials from both parties across the country see continued benefit from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) for providing benefits for critical relief for their communities.

Just this week, Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell highlighted $4 billion in funding going toward his home state of Kentucky, telling constituents that “you’re going to get a lot more money”.

McConnell is correct, as a PEW report this week showed that for 37 states ARP aid ranged from about 5% to more than 20% of annual spending, providing “critical breathing room that was rare in the slimmed-down budgets that lingered after the Great Recession.” That funding has helped provide critical relief to local communities, such as $763 million for child care providers in Kentucky.

States like Arizona have used ARP funding to provide relief to veterans and the homeless, while Michigan has used funding to invest in schools and state parks. And starting next week, the ARP is set to reduce child poverty in America in half with its incoming Child Tax Credit.

See more examples below of how the American Rescue Plan continues to provide critical relief across the country:
