If your answer was something along the lines of providing low-income students with equal opportunity, good job! You get an A. Unfortunately, despite a clear need – as demonstrated by rising inequality and an increasing percentage of low-income students in our nation’s schools – Republicans are poised to fail this particular test spectacularly.
