Trump’s culture of corruption in one list.

It's another day in Trump's America—and another day to stand up for what's right. Get the facts to fight back.

The extent of Trump’s dismantling of democratic norms and ideals, aided by the Republican-controlled Congress, might never be fully known. But the New York Times took on the onerous task of laying out a comprehensive list outlining how Trump has used the presidency to enrich himself, his family, and his friends. Here are a few highlights:

  • Trump has spent nearly 1 in 3 days in office at one of his properties, forcing taxpayers to at least partially foot the bill, which goes directly into Trump’s pocket. In one three-month period last year, Secret Service spent around $200,000 at Trump properties.
  • Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has used her position to weaken regulations on for-profit colleges, which defraud countless students and veterans. DeVos holds a significant financial stake in several of these institutions.
  • Remember former HHS Secretary Tom Price? He propped up drug companies to the detriment of American patients. Then, he invested financially in those same companies.
  • Some of Trump’s closest advisors like Michael Cohen, Corey Lewandowski, and Paul Manafort received hefty sums of money and favors from foreign officials and major companies in return for insight into the Trump administration.

Trump’s cronies in Congress have failed to do their jobs and hold him accountable. On Nov. 6th, we’ll find out whether America has chosen leaders who will hold this President and his culture of corruption to account.

THE REAL FACT CHECK ON HEALTH CARE.

Congressional Republicans have repeatedly misstated their position on pre-existing conditions after voting to repeal them at least 9 times since 2011. Some are now misusing fact checks from the Washington Post’s Glen Kessler to prove their point. Well he just called them out.

In a fact check, about the fact check, Kessler said on this list of Republicans, “They apparently believe it is politically advantageous to continue to deceive the voters in their districts,” also adding that none of the Republicans who have been caught in the lie have agreed to withdraw their false citations.

These are some of the Republicans misleading voters with this false claim around the AHCA and pre-existing conditions protections.

8 DAYS.

Let’s take a moment to digest what happened in the last week. In the span of only 72 hours, the nation witnessed a series of violent episodes fueled by hateful, partisan rhetoric – much of which comes from the President himself.

On Wednesday, suspected white supremacist—Gregory Bush—was charged with killing two African-Americans at a Kentucky grocery store while reportedly shouting racial slurs. This came after he originally tried to enter a black church to carry out the attack.

On Friday, a Trump supporter named Cesar Sayoc was charged with attempting a mass assassination of Democratic political leaders and employees of CNN.

On Saturday, Robert Bowers allegedly entered a Pittsburgh synagogue, gunning down 11 people in what authorities suspect to be an anti-Semitic hate crime.

These occurrences are not normal.
