President Trump and Iran

Center for American Progress Action Fund
2:00 - 3:30 PM EDT

Thanks to President Donald Trump and his bellicose national security team, tensions—and the risk of armed conflict—between the United States and Iran have grown higher than at any point in recent memory. Indeed, the Trump administration’s recent actions and rhetoric on Iran have put the United States in a dangerous position. It scrapped a working nuclear agreement and pursued a campaign of maximum pressure against Tehran without realistic policy goals. As a result, the United States now faces the grave risk that President Trump could blunder the nation into another unnecessary military conflict in the Middle East.

Please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a keynote address by Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM) on bipartisan legislation he has introduced to prevent President Trump from launching an unauthorized war with Iran. Following Sen. Udall’s remarks, an expert panel will discuss key challenges confronting America’s Iran policy today and moving forward.
