Jack Johnston is the executive coordinator of the Advocacy department at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, Johnston interned for Reps. John Larson (D-CT) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) and represented the United States as a youth ambassador at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. A native Idahoan, Johnston holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University, where he studied government and East Asian studies. Outside of work, he is an avid Mahjong player, backpacker, and hiker—his next goal is to walk the Camino de Santiago.
