Amina Khalique is a research associate with the Women’s Initiative at American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, she worked at nonprofit organizations in Michigan, including We the People Michigan, where she worked on policy research and community organizing on issues related to housing, corporate accountability in energy, and driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants, while also advocating against the expansion of surveillance technology in Detroit.
Khalique is a proud Detroiter and graduate of Wayne State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in public policy. In her free time, she loves to read, bake, travel, and rejuvenate near large bodies of water.
