Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress Action Fund will host Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) on February 14 for a keynote speech on U.S. relations with Russia. The address will particularly focus on legislation that he and his colleagues have introduced to impose additional sanctions on Russia for their destabilizing activities in the United States and worldwide. Sen. Cardin is the ranking Democrat on the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and an outspoken advocate for human rights. He has sponsored other legislation on U.S.-Russian relations, including a bill that would establish a 9/11-like commission to examine Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election.
