Washington, D.C. — On Thursday, January 23, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) will deliver remarks at the Center for American Progress Action Fund on the factors that have given rise to the Tea Party in recent years and how the Tea Party’s anti-government philosophy is actually based on false premises.
Additionally, Sen. Schumer will urge Americans to consider the true economic roots of the Tea Party movement and pursue an agenda that addresses the economic anxiety that helped fuel the Tea Party. Sen. Schumer will prescribe an inclusive agenda for 2014 that addresses those concerns and will help curb the influence and power of the Tea Party in Washington.
