ADVISORY: Senator Denis, Assemblyman Araujo to join CAP Action for Press Conference Highlighting Growing Latino Voter Influence

Las Vegas, NV — Nevada State Senator Mo Denis and State Assemblyman Nelson Araujo will join The Center for American Progress Action Fund, PLAN Action, Battle Born Progress, and Mi Familia Vota will for a press conference to highlight new data on the impact that Latino voters will have on the 2016 Presidential election in Nevada and throughout the country, at the East Las Vegas Community Center on December 9, at 10:00 a.m. PST. The event will focus on the need for all candidates to address issues that are important to the Latino community, and highlight the existing challenges some candidates face in winning the state.

A growing population of Latinos is wielding more influence, especially in Nevada. However, Republican candidates are alienating this population with their support of anti-immigrant policies, opposition to comprehensive immigration reform, and inflammatory rhetoric. Wednesday’s press conference will highlight the impact of the growing Latino population on key states during the 2016 Presidential election, and how Republicans are isolating this community.
