Washington, D.C. — Now that Democrats have reclaimed the House, join the Center for American Progress Action Fund and leading grassroots organizations for a play-by-play of the 2018 midterms and a preview of how these new faces can lead our nation forward. The new House has an opportunity to be a strong check on President Donald Trump and have built a class of newly elected officials—many of whom were voted in on the basis of rejecting corporate PAC money; demanding that politicians protect the millions of Americans living with pre-existing conditions; and representing the people instead of special interests.
This event—on Thursday, November 8—will highlight the infrastructure built by the reform coalition that empowered everyday Americans to mobilize at historic rates. It will feature discussions about key narratives that drove voters to the polls, what we can expect from the new class of elected officials, and how voters are fiercely engaged in the resistance.
Panelists will include progressive leaders from End Citizens United, Planned Parenthood, MoveOn, Emily’s List, Run for Something, Higher Heights, Latino Victory Fund, Swing Left, Indivisible, Alliance for Youth Action, and For Our Future.
