Press Call Advisory: United States v. Texas and The Future of Immigration Policy in the United States

Washington, D.C. — As we approach the U.S. Supreme Court’s expected decision in United States v. Texas—a lawsuit brought by more than two dozen states challenging the implementation of the expansion of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, and the creation of Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents, or DAPA—immigration experts, attorneys, and advocates will host a background call to discuss the politics surrounding this decision; the impact of an eight-member Court; and the future of immigration policy in the United States.

Please join Angela Kelley, Executive Director of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Nora Adriana Preciado, Attorney for the National Immigration Law Center, and Alma Couverthie, Senior Director for Organizing at CASA, as they discuss what we can expect before the end of the Supreme Court’s term in late June and the steps the immigration movement is prepared to take following the decision.
