Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress Action Fund’s American Worker Project is tracking every action the president takes to weaken job protections for Americans, with 10 new examples published today to outline how the Trump administration has waged a steady and unceasing war on workers—the very people Donald Trump promised to protect and advocate for as president.
The list includes legislation and orders signed by the president; procedural changes and regulations enacted or proposed by his administration; and official statements of policy. The tracker now lists 53 anti-worker policies enacted by the administration.
“Trump has made dozens of promises to working people in this country and has broken nearly every one of them,” said David Madland, senior fellow and senior adviser to the American Worker Project at the Action Fund and co-author of the tracker. “Whether it’s weakening payday lending standards, opening the door to discrimination against transgender workers, or loosening wage protections for tipped workers, it’s clear that Trump is looking out only for the wealthy and powerful instead of the everyday people he pledged to serve.”
